Experience the Renewing Effects of a Far Infrared Sauna

What is an infrared sauna?

Elite athletes use infrared saunas to warm their muscles before and after working out to prevent injuries and promote relaxation. But the secret is out and millions of ordinary people are enjoying the benefits of this radiant heat therapy.

Heating the body for increased health and vitality is a common practice all over the world. It is a relaxing and enjoyable way to support your body's immune system, reduce stress, detoxify and relieve pain.

Far infrared saunas provide a gentle radiant heat. The heat produced in the sauna penetrates deep into the body, elevating the body's core temperature and increasing blood circulation and oxygen supply to damaged tissues. s

How can an infrared sauna help you?

The health benefits of an infrared sauna include:

      o    Detoxification
      o    Pain relief
      o    Weight loss
      o    Stronger immune system
      o    More efficient circulation
      o    Improved skin tone
      o    Enhanced physical conditioning

How does it work?

Radiant heat is a natural form of energy which heats objects directly without heating the air in between. While a conventional sauna or a steam room heats the air around the body and can become quite hot and uncomfortable, in an infrared sauna, less than 20% of the infrared energy heats the air temperature and up to 80% is converted to heat within our own bodies.

The sauna therefore requires a much lower air temperature, typically between 115º-135º F compared to 180º-235ºF in a traditional sauna.

Detoxification
Two to three times more sweat is produced in the far-infrared sauna than is possible in conventional hot air saunas. This leads to a more efficient removal of heavy metals such as lead, mercury, aluminum, and cadmium. By eliminating toxins directly through the skin, the detoxifying load is taken off your liver and kidneys.

Pain Relief
The deep heat helps blood vessels dilate, bringing relief and healing to muscle and soft tissue injuries. In Japan infrared has been effective in providing pain relief with those suffering from bursitis, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, back pain, sprains and many other muscular-skeletal ailments. Much of the stiffness and soreness that comes with aging is reduced or eliminated.

Weight Loss
With an increased heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate, infrared allows you to passively increase your overall cardiovascular fitness. You can burn 600 calories in just one 30-minute session. You lose weight - not just water.

Improved Skin Tone
The profuse sweating releases deeply imbedded impurities and dead skin cells, leaving the skin glowing and immaculately clean. Uneven skin tone and redness are reduced and elasticity improved. Symptoms related to conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis can also be reduced.

Other Benefits
Infrared saunas have also been reported to help clear cellulite, shorten recovery time with colds and flu, bolster the immune system, increase flexibility and relaxation of muscle tissue and stimulate the body's own natural healing processes.

Infrared safety

Far infrared radiant heat is widely recognized as a healthy and safe form of heat and many hospital maternity wards use infrared lamps to warm premature infants. However, the treatment is not suitable for pregnant women and patients with certain health conditions. Please contact us to discuss if this treatment is right for you.

Sauna sessions

Maximum recommended time per session is 30 minutes. It is important to take in lots of water both before and after a sauna session as toxins stored on a cellular level are being released.
