What is SCENAR?
SCENAR is an acronym for Self Controlled Energo Neuro Adaptive Regulation. It was developed in the 1970's by physicians and scientists working for the Russian space program. It was intended for use by cosmonauts who had limited access to medical treatment and medication during space travel.
Now it is available to all and it has proved to be a great solution for ordinary people all over the world who are looking for drug-free ways to treat and alleviate pain.

How it works
The SCENAR is a non-invasive, hand held biofeedback device which communicates with the body through direct contact on the skin. It finds and treats problem areas and by engaging the body's natural healing ability, assists in restoring function and relieving pain.
The SCENAR initiates the healing process by stimulating the nervous system to produce neuropeptides (chemicals released by the nerves) which help restore the body's natural physiological state. Neuropeptides are often referred to as the body's internal pharmacy, as they regulate almost all life processes on a cellular level. This is one of the biggest factors in the effectiveness of SCENAR therapy.
Because of this interactive biofeedback mechanism, each new impulse differs from the previous one so the body cannot accommodate to the signal and is forced to respond.
As the SCENAR is drawn over specific areas of the skin, the skin surface is observed for areas of redness, numbness, stickiness or a change in sound or numerical display. These areas may not necessarily be the symptomatic areas, but by treating these "active zones", a change is generated and the healing process begins.
Treatment safety
Since the impulses sent by the device are similar to the body's own impulses, SCENAR therapy is extremely safe for all ages. Clients feel only a mild tingling or stroking sensation. It is registered with both Health Canada and the FDA as a "Type 2" biofeedback medical device for the use in muscle relaxation and pain management.
There are very few contraindications; however, it is not recommended for people with cardiac pacemakers, cardiac arrhythmias, transplant and cancer patients and women in the first trimester of pregnancy.
Therapeutic blanket
A wonderful addition to SCENAR therapy, the blanket assists in restoring the parasympathetic response - a relaxation state which aids the body in recovery as opposed to the sympathetic or ‘fight or flight' response. It also helps to strengthen the immune system and promote a restful sleep.
The therapeutic blanket consists of several shielding layers of synthetic metallic film which protects the body from harmful electromagnetic fields. It increases both energy and blood flow and is an effective pain management device.
